Firstly, I hope you are all well and safe! Secondly, I MISS YOU!!!! I miss saying "Il y a trop de bruit!!!!!!". Thirdly, I am fine. I am keeping busy by doing yoga and taking Rafiki for lots of walks. I have been sending some things by email, including Gr 2 Number Talks (which is some really great math we do every day and keeps our brains really thinking of different strategies) and I sent our Word Wall words too. You can create your own word wall at home by printing off the words and cutting them out....don't glue them to the wall though....use tape :) I also sent some pages for reviewing French sounds......these are only some of the pages we have been using, but it's a way to keep building and reviewing sounds and vocabulary. Remember that detail is important in the pictures!
Once I finish scanning some more work and activities I will email them.
Remember that the story which was sent home can be done on a google doc in Ug cloud and emailed to me. I have already received a few and will start looking at them next week.
Here is some math for you to do: use the 100's chart to add and subtract:
For example 57+34
Start at 57 because it's easier to start with the bigger number. Put your finger (or a button or something) on number 57, then jump down to 67, because we know that adding 10 means we go down to the number below, then go down to 77, and then 87 (thats the 30....10, 10, 10), then count by ones 88, 89, 90, 91, (thats the 4 in 34). Voila! You are at 91
So 57+34 = 91
You can do the same when you are subtracting....just go up the 100's chart instead of down.
Here is a hundreds chart you can print off.
https://www.google.com/search?q=hundreds+chart+pdf&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=vPHMWsEB4qZSDM%253A%252Cg6bRtNwl9Xt6TM%252C_&vet=1&usg=AI4_-kQHPPbDb9329BvxaaYcpl2k0TDUpg&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjvo-Xb4qzoAhWQG80KHUzFAnkQ9QEwAHoECAoQJg#imgrc=vPHMWsEB4qZSDM Have fun adding and subtracting. Write down the steps you took to find the answer.
Here si s game to play with your 100s chart.....Make a dice that says +10,, +5, +20, +1, +30, +2. Make another dice that says -10, -5, -20, -1, -30. Start at 1 on the chart and roll the + dice. Move a bingo chip or button to the right number. Then roll the - dice and move your bingo chip. See how long it takes you to get to 100........or play with parents or siblings using different coloured bingo chips. You can always play 100 chart battle chip too:)
That's all for now:)
A bientot,
Mme
